Political Science & English Major
As a political science major interested in European relations, I am very excited for the chance to travel to Vienna and learn more about the migration crisis and its complexities. Outside of my academic work at Davidson College, I devote most of my free time to acting as the Mock Trial Team’s Vice President, training two horses at a nearby stable, and serving as an E-board member and the Publicity Chair of the college’s Hillel. Being an active member of Hillel (and a Jew with roots in both Eastern and Western Europe), I am particularly interested in the current rise of the radical right in Vienna in its historical context of the Nazi Regime. In the fall, I will continue my studies at the University of Edinburgh in a country that has pulled away from the European Union, in part, because of the immigration crisis.
I love painting, travelling, being outside, and trying as many new foods as I can get my hands on. Two fun facts about me: I own a pet cockatoo that is potty trained, and my entire family of six scuba dives (we will be going on a dive trip to Mozambique this summer, 10 year old younger brother included).
