Alice Johnson Class of 2018
Political Science and French and Francophone Studies
I am currently a rising senior from Charlotte, North Carolina. I am a Political Science major and recently declared my second major in French and Francophone studies. At Davidson, I am a violinist in the Symphony Orchestra, on the leadership team of our chapter of the International Justice Mission, a tour guide, and a member of Warner Hall eating house. My studies both in and outside of Davidson have focused around international relations with a particular focus on Europe. I spent the fall semester abroad in Brussels, and studied NATO, the European Union, and contemporary political debates. In these courses, we focused on the migration crisis and various countries’ responses to the crisis, and also looked at the rising political extremism in EU countries. I look forward to studying these topics in Vienna and learning about the issues from a variety of different viewpoints.
